FAQ’s
How do I schedule for an appointment?
To schedule a complimentary consultation or any procedure, please click the “book now” button on the footer of each page or you can click the button below. If you have any special requests or have difficulty finding an appointment that works for you, please contact me at (619)500-1133.
What to expect in the consultation?
The consultation is a short 30-minute call/appointment (via facetime, phone call, or in-person). The goal of this consultation is to explore what procedure is the best choice for you, to make sure you understand the process, and last but not least, make sure you are happy and to answer any questions you may have.
*I always allow enough time during each procedural appointment to answer any questions as there is always a built-in consultation.
Which brow service will give me the most natural look or is most suitable for me?
At the beginning of every appointment, I allow enough time to discuss with you which method is most natural and suitable for you. This is based on whether you have had previous permanent makeup, your skin type, texture, lifestyle, and the amount of existing brow hair present.
Am I eligible for permanent makeup?
You are not a candidate for permanent makeup if you are: pregnant, breastfeeding, diabetic, if you have glaucoma, skin diseases, keloid disorder, autoimmune disease, hepatitis, cancer/chemo, or if you’re taking skin medications like steroids. You must also be over 18 years old. There could be other factors that may determine if you are a good candidate or not for permanent makeup but it would have to be further discussed in a consultation.
How long and how many sessions does it take for a new set of brows, lash line enhancement, or lip blush?
For the initial appointments, I take my time but it usually takes about 3-3.5 hours, and touch up appointments usually take about 2 hours or less. Every new set of brows, lash line enhancement, or lip blush usually requires two sessions to be complete and to achieve the desired look. The first session is the initial appointment and the second session is the touch up or the “perfecting appointment”. This is to ensure that the shape, color and retention are perfected.
**For the dark lip neutralization procedure, it can take multiple touch ups to achieve a more neutral lip shade
How does lip blush work?
A digital machine and a very small needle is used to gently deposit pigment into the lips. This slowly builds a beautiful, natural lip color. Color and boldness are based on the client's preference. If the base undertone of the lips are darker, it will require a procedure called dark lip neutralization, where multiple touch ups are needed to achieve a neutral lip shade.
Will lip blush look like lipstick?
Lip blush is a technique that produces more of a “lip tint” result, however, everybody’s skin takes the tattoo differently. I always start more conservative and light and we can build on the color at the touch up appointments.
What is the healing process?
You will be given thorough post care instructions to take care of your new permanent makeup investment. You will experience some swelling, soreness, and will appear darker on the first day following the appointment. Brows usually take about 7-10 days to heal. Lips and the lash line enhancement have the easiest and fastest healing times. It only takes about 5-7 days.
The outermost surfaces of the skin for all procedures may stop peeling and look healed but the true healing time to heal the underneath layers and complete turnover of all the skin cells can be 6-8 weeks. Usually the older you are, the slower that process can be.
Can I get permanent makeup if I have botox or fillers?
Yes! For ALL permanent makeup procedures, botox or filler appointments MUST be at least one month beforehand to let it settle in the skin and muscles. Lips with filler do not interfere with the process of tattooing lips or the results.
How long does permanent makeup last?
The retention of any permanent makeup depends on different factors such as the color you chose, your lifestyle, and how you care for them before and after your appointment. Although some permanent makeup can last 5+ years, it is most likely recommended to have a yearly color boost (touch up) to maintain the vibrancy of color in the skin.
How long should I wait to get a touch up?
A touch up should be at least 6 weeks after the first initial session, once the brows, lash line enhancement, and lips are fully healed (dark lip neutralization can take up to 8+ weeks). You may need a yearly color boost (touch up) to maintain the vibrancy of the color in the skin.
Does it hurt?
Everyone has a different level of sensitivity so topical anesthetics are applied during the treatment to alleviate any sensation or discomfort. I always use the strongest topical anesthetic I can under my permanent makeup license.
***It is recommended to not have permanent makeup during your monthly cycle or use of caffeine which can heighten the sensitivity.
Is it safe?
I follow all protocols set by the San Diego Health Department and under my California Permanent Makeup License for safety and sanitation. All instruments and supplies used are single one-time use, sterile, and disposable. I am fully insured in the state of California.
What is the cancellation policy?
I am flexible with rescheduling as long as it’s done within 48 hours. Due to the high demand of clients booking, if you cancel less than 48 hours prior to your appointment, you will forfeit your deposit payment. By confirming your appointment, you have confirmed that you have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.
What are your forms of payment?
I accept cash, venmo, zelle, and all major credit cards.
For additional questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. For clients needing a correction, you MUST first submit photos for approval prior to booking. Corrections are done on a case by case basis and I will reach out once I have reviewed photos.
